Bespoke Garden Room Build in Portsmouth – A Practical Living Space for the Whole Family

Becky and Sean approached us with a clear vision. They needed additional living space for their teenage daughter, but didn’t want to lose valuable storage or take on major building works. After discussing their requirements and budget, we designed and built a functional, fully insulated garden room with an adjoining storage shed, tailored specifically to their needs.

The main living area offers a comfortable, private space, complete with built-in wardrobes, heating, laminate flooring, full electrical connection to the house, and internal and external lighting. The adjoining shed provides ample storage for Sean’s tools, bikes, and garden equipment—proving that with smart design, you don’t have to sacrifice practicality.

To help them stay within budget, we opted for pressure-treated shed-grade timber cladding, which still offers a durable, attractive finish while keeping costs down. Like all our builds, the structure is fully insulated for year-round use, making it a comfortable, energy-efficient space whatever the season. The project also includes an oil-filled radiator, decoration throughout, and a ground screw base for a solid, low-impact foundation.
